2017 Wrap Up

It’s hard to believe that first term is done and we’re already looking forward to 2018!  We have another new beginning as we start the secular new year.  I have enjoyed my first months at Richmond Jewish Day School and look forward to the remaining months as the search for a permanent school principal continues.

There has been growth and learning occurring as our children build the knowledge, skills and attitudes that lead to success. The combination of academic skills along with spiritual knowledge are specific to a Jewish day school education.  Our children become fluent with the Hebrew language and build connections to Israel as they learn the British Columbia curriculum of Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, the arts, and physical education. Foundational to any curriculum is building social responsibility and respect for others. It is an active component at RJDS as we work with community partners, like the Jewish Food Bank and Variety – The Children’s Charity, to bring this Jewish value to daily school life.

A small school requires commitment on the part of parents, staff, students and the Jewish community.  Your continued involvement and support of the school allows us to improve and grow over the longer run. There are always challenges; but good will and engagement allows us to be a special place where our students feel at home and part of the RJDS family.

Thank you to our staff, parents and students for a successful first term.  We wish you all the best for 2018!
