A message from the Preschool Teachers:
Children love to learn. We believe in providing children with diverse experiences to facilitate every area of their development. Play is a child’s work and a natural way to learn. Through play children learn about themselves, their world and develop to their full potential. As educators we are committed to provide a warm, supportive and nurturing environment, a natural bridge from home to preschool. We recognize that each child is unique and special, and by developing a trusting relationship we can understand the individual needs and interests of each child.
We see ourselves in partnership with parents and the community to provide an enriched environment that will inspire and nurture each child’s love of learning and enhance their level of education.
Our philosophy emphasizes "learning through play".
We provide a play-based program that:
1. Supports the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually
2. Recognizes each child’s unique learning style, abilities, and developmental level
3. Allows for hands on learning, where the curriculum can emerge from the children’s interests, needs and desires, making learning concrete and meaningful
4. Allows children to be surrounded by an environment that is safe, warm, loving and creative
5. Fosters the development of each child’s individual capabilities, while promoting a sense of self-worth, self-esteem, self-awareness and self-directed

Our goal is to promote a positive self-image through creative growth.
To provide a program that:
1. Offers a variety of materials and open-ended techniques to encourage experimentation, individual expressiveness and creativity
2. Includes a variety of activities designed to stimulate each child’s natural desire to explore and discover inside and out
3. Supports a stimulating, fun, nurturing and healthy environment to allow children to feel good about themselves and their achievements
Our program includes a diverse variety of subjects ranging from the academic end of the spectrum (math, language, science & discovery, etc.) to arts and craft (music, painting, etc.) and life skills (dramatic play, etc.) Teachers plan experiences based on children’s interests and appropriate educational concepts.
Judaic Studies
Jewish culture is consistently conveyed through weekly Shabbat celebrations and other Jewish holiday programs. Brachot are recited before snack. Jewish ethics and Hebrew language are emphasized through stories, songs, and games. We incorporate Jewish Values into our curriculum throughout the entire school year.
Evaluation
Three progress reports will summarize a student’s progress over a specified period of time. Such reports will identify the student’s interests, breakthroughs in understanding, and growing mastery of skills.
Parents receive monthly schedules and are encouraged to participate in any way they feel comfortable.
Parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year.
