Thank you for the warm welcome as the Interim Principal at Richmond Jewish Day School. There are a number of connections with families that have been at public schools in Richmond where I have previously been school principal (and teacher). There is a Jewish saying that “beginnings are the most difficult” yet being the newbie has been more comfortable with students explaining what I should know as I get to know our school community. I look forward to seeing many RJDS families at the Welcome Back BBQ tonight. The transition with Abba Brodt will be continuing in the next weeks once he returns from Israel. Our leadership team with Lisa Romalis as our vice-principal and Malki Moshkovitz as school counselor has been invaluable, as they know our students and individual needs so well. This leads to continuity and hopefully a successful year for both the children and parent community. Working in partnership with students, staff and parents will be our goal in offering a quality BC Curriculum and Hebrew and Judaic Studies program at Richmond Jewish Day School!
“RJDS’ teaching integrates ethics with practical day-to-day activities and situations the children encounter. So they learn not just about feeling good, but about doing good.”
– Abba Brodt, former principal
